Just back from Aspen and a week of skiing. I missed last year, so it took a couple of days to get my ski legs back.
So much fun! And good steaks!
Now it is time to get back to work. Trouble is, my hard drive on the main computer crashed. I have fairly recent back ups, but still I think I have lost some important information.
What a total pain in the butt when these things do something like that. But on the other hand, this is a chance to rebuild it at a much higher level of functioning. There were problems with the old installation that needed to be fixed. And I am so happy that I got the work done that had to be done just before it crashed. I am a very lucky person.
My brain is working slow after this trip (so is my body!). I’ve been trying to figure out the whole Slumdog Oscar thing?
Was this really the best picture of the year? Personally, I thought Benjamin Button and The Reader were both better. Haven’t seen The Wrestler yet, but I have a feeling it is a better pix than Slumdog. So, why did the Hollywood insiders go nuts over this particular picture?
I think it was the rags-to-riches story line that might be a good metaphor for us to hold onto right now. If that kid can survive, get the money and the girl, well maybe there is hope for us, too.
We can rise from the ashes. That is a good metaphor to hold onto.
